Application Training Manager

Purpose of the role:

The training team is predominantly responsible for delivering training to a wide variety of Meddbase users, both internally and externally. Application training aims to ensure all users are confident in configuring and using the Meddbase application.
The training team works closely in collaboration with other departments, e.g., Support, HR, Client Solution Engineers, and is frequently called upon for ad-hoc training-related queries.

As well as delivering end user training, the successful applicant will contribute to the Meddbase knowledgebase and training video repository. Therefore, the ability to explain complex ideas accurately, comprehensively, and clearly using written and verbal communication is essential.

The successful applicant must be able to communicate with customers at all levels from executives and technical users to users who may be less computer savvy. This role requires a high degree of patience, empathy, and flexibility, as learners in groups vary in ability to absorb information, learning styles and temperament. If you’re looking to find a great deal of variety in your day-to-day initiatives, and work in a role where you shape your department and change the status quo, this role will not disappoint.

Key functions & responsibilities:

  • Providing user training on the UI of a complex EMR application – Meddbase.
  • Onboarding new starters and delivering structured training.
  • Delivering bespoke, ad-hoc training for Meddbase users.
  • Liaising with the project management and account management teams and assisting in effective implementations.
  • Providing ad-hoc support for internal staff and clients related to configuration and system workflows.
  • Problem solving and solution finding in liaison with clients to accommodate their business processes.

Additional functions & responsibilities:

  • Creating Knowledgebase articles covering configuration and system workflows
  • Creating structured training videos using screen capture software and recording voiceover narration.

Person specification

Relevant experience:

  • Experience in a training environment, explaining complex topics and ensuring learner understanding.
  • (Advantageous) Experience using TechSmith Camtasia software.
  • (Advantageous) At least 1 year of experience in a training/teaching role.

Key skills:

  • Excellent level of English is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to ‘think on your feet’, problem-solve and adjust training in real-time.
  • Ability to manage client expectations and handle a variety of stakeholders at all business levels.
  • Ability to plan and execute a successful training session tailored to different audiences.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to manage a high level of autonomy.
  • Ability to self-manage but report to direct management as required, including reporting back to the business on key training statistics.
  • Proactive in building and managing internal/external relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Be forthcoming and proactive in suggesting new ideas and identifying areas for improvement or enhancement.

Development & Support

Once you join our team, we will ensure you have a thorough Induction to Meddbase and the teams. After 4 months, we set aside time to talk about how you are settling into you role and team. We then progress to holding annual performance reviews but there are lots of informal opportunities to talk about any support you need to thrive at Meddbase.
