Product Marketing Manager

Purpose of the role:

A product marketing manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation and distribution of promotional campaigns for key products. This individual will have a keen understanding of the product’s target audience, and in-depth knowledge of relevant product features.

You are responsible for crafting a story about the product that will entice potential customers to purchase the product, and collecting customer feedback after launch.

The product marketing manager will be brought into the process to educate the public about the value and benefits of the offering so they can convert potential customers into raving fans.

The role’s objectives are to focus on three levels of the sales funnel:

  • Acquisition: Bringing awareness to your product through content such as social media, copywriting, and blogs. This requires the product marketing manager to determine what type of campaign needs to be done, create a budget for the marketing endeavors, craft a project plan to map out when this content will be released, and oversee a team who will create the desired content.
  • Engagement: Building trust and creating conversation with potential customers through events, campaigns, and specific calls to action.
  • Conversion and Retention: Converting potential customers into paying customers and keeping existing customers loyal through add-on purchases (when appropriate).

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Crafting product marketing messages and unique selling points that set the product apart from the rest in the market.
  • Communicating the vision of a company and the value of new products to the sales team and helping them develop tools that facilitate the sales process.
  • Building a robust customer hyper-persona that can enable digital marketing to target specific demographics and sales teams can use for outbound activities.
  • Planning and participating in the launch of new products and services in a company.
  • Briefing the press, PR teams on new products and services to be launched in the market.
  • Presenting products to both internal teams and clients, discussing sales strategy and using market research to establish product pricing.
  • Performing surveys, interviews and focus groups for obtaining insights about the customer’s product usage and buyer personas to tap new opportunities.
  • Agreeing on timelines and deadlines of new product development with the product management teams to recruiting and managing a team of product marketing executives and creating marketing content such as case studies, website copy and blog posts

Relevant experience required:

  • Excellent collaborative skills and ability to work with multiple teams and departments across the business.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to create engaging copy and capture unique stories that help sell more products.
  • Excellent market research skills and the ability to gain insight into the customers’ needs and experiences.
  • Outstanding social media marketing skills for connecting with audiences and growing relationships with them.
  • Excellent copywriting and design skills (optional) to produce compelling sales material for both online and print media.
  • Accurate analytical skills for evaluating and discovering effective marketing strategies.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work with multi-national companies.
  • Ideal candidates possess proven expertise in strategy development, forecasting and ROI calculations.
  • 2-3 years of sales experience, with a history of exceeding lead targets.
  • English Required. Additional language is a plus. .
  • Experience in Healthcare is preferred.
  • Business 2 Business product experience is required.

Key skills:

  • Research, empathy mapping and persona development.
  • Commercial Product Packaging and tiering based on personas.
  • Case study development and ROI calculation.
  • Sales Enablement materials development (content that resonates with buyers).
  • Events, webinars and engagement skills is a plus.
  • Email marketing and understanding of product user engagement through emails.
  • Results Oriented and Self-Motivated.
  • Work Remotely / Online Management.
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel) to an intermediate level.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to meet the team.

Development & Support
